Faktograf – Association for the Informed Public is a non-profit media organisation in Croatia that publishes two online media outlets that are registered as electronic publications with the Agency for Electronic Media in Croatia: Faktograf.hr specialised in fact-checking and Klimatski.hr focused on climate issues. Faktograf is the first media publisher in Croatia to be awarded the certificate from the Journalism Trust Initiative.

Faktograf is a verified member of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network and the International Fact-Checking Network, as well as the founding member of SEE Check - the network of 6 fact-checkers in South East Europe. 

Faktograf is interested in public policies relevant for misinformation and disinformation, transparency and access to data and knowledge, good governance and democracy, as well as an enabling environment for viable journalism in the public interest, and as such is registered in the Transparency Register under ID 521295644592-54.  



The beginning of 2025 in Croatia was marked by elections for the Croatian President, with informal campaigning for local elections in May 2025.  

The contents, actors and channels of communications were saturated with political pre-election content, but lacking trustworthy information and abundant with misinformation and disinformation. As expected, this correlated with the growth of online harassment against journalists and fact-checkers.

Faktograf focused its activities on providing trustworthy information and debunking misinformation and disinformation to citizens in Croatia. Additionally, Faktograf engaged in promoting digital media literacy and protecting its journalists from harassment. Faktograf strengthened its cooperation with fact-checkers in the country, region, EU and globally, and continued participation in the Code of Practice Taskforce.


Commitment 32
Relevant Signatories commit to provide fact-checkers with prompt, and whenever possible automated, access to information that is pertinent to help them to maximise the quality and impact of fact-checking, as defined in a framework to be designed in coordination with EDMO and an elected body representative of the independent European fact-checking organisations.

Measure 32.3
Relevant Signatories will regularly exchange information between themselves and the fact-checking community, to strengthen their cooperation.

Relevant Signatories will report on the channels of communications and the exchanges conducted to strengthen their cooperation - including success of and satisfaction with the information, interface, and other tools referred to in Measures 32.1 and 32.2 - and any conclusions drawn from such exchanges.
Faktograf communicated with TikTok and Meta (Third Party Fact-Checking program).
