Democracy Reporting International
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting democracy worldwide. We strengthen democracy by supporting the institutions and processes that make it sustainable, and work with diverse stakeholders to ensure that citizens play a key role in shaping their societies. DRI focuses on five key themes of democracy: justice, elections, local governance, digital democracy, and human rights. Our team of researchers, project managers and policy experts bring diverse backgrounds in quantitative data analysis, advocacy, law, policy and media.
DRI’s Digital Democracy Programme Unit focuses on identifying trends in online discourse and online harms during political events and electoral periods across Europe and beyond. Our Digital Democracy team conducts comprehensive social media monitoring and formulates policy recommendations for various stakeholders in the technology and society ecosystem, including lawmakers, tech platforms, and civil society organizations.
